How To Use this Catalogue

This electronic catalogue has been designed to allow you to look up parts and technical information as quickly as possible. Virtually no training is needed and you should be up and running within a few minutes. However, it is important that you read through these brief notes as they will enhance your understanding of the system. We also recommend that you read the information provided by the parts manufacturer on the catalogue home page.

If you are familiar with Windows, and in particular Internet Explorer, you will have no problem using this system. The catalogue uses a standard HTML web page format, utilising text, images, and hyperlinks to other pages.

Left Pane - Navigation Menu

The left pane is your main navigation menu to the product information that you wish to access. From here you can browse the product catalogues and buyers guides and gain access to the technical information that is on the system.

You will notice that some of the words within the left pane are underlined. These are hyperlinks which you can click upon with your mouse. If you place your mouse pointer over any of these underlined headings you will notice that the mouse cursor will change from the normal arrow to a hand symbol with a pointing finger, this means that you can now select the given heading by clicking your LEFT mouse button once.

Right Pane - Information Screen

The right pane is where the information you request is displayed i.e. if you wish to view parts for a Ford Escort, then you would select the criteria from the left pane , and the product information would then be displayed upon the right hand side of the screen. Also within the right pane are links to other pages. Again if you move your mouse pointer over these links your mouse pointer will change from the normal arrow, to the pointing hand, and by clicking with your LEFT mouse key you can select the link.

Part numbers are underlined and if you click on one you will be taken to the technical data page for the selected part. The technical data page displays images details and useful information relating to the product as well as comprehensive buyers guide information.

LINKS

Links within the system can be both internal & external. External links point to the Internet for the information you are seeking. These links are clearly marked with a full website addresses so that you can tell the difference. To access external links you will need to have access to the internet on the PC that you are using.

Searching & Selecting

There are two ways in which you can search & select the product data within this system.

Application Guide

This method enables you to search the product database by vehicle make & model. This can save vital searching time if you know the make & model of the vehicle, but not the part reference. To carry out this procedure simply click on any of the underlined catalogue headings in the left pane. You will then be presented with the necessary makes & models list needed to find the required parts.

HOT TIP!

If you wish to go back a step, i.e. you wanted to search for parts on a BMW 5 Series, but accidentally selected the 3 Series, then simply click on your manufacturers logo (which is located on the top left hand side of your screen) to go back one step, which will take you back to all of the models of BMW. This can be used on both application & buyers guide searches!

Buyers Guide

The buyers guide search option within the program allows you to search the technical database quickly by allowing you to go straight to a part number. This feature is particularly useful if you know the exact part number that you need the technical information for, or if you just wish to browse through the products.

Numeric Listing

If you select the numeric listing option you will then be given a list of product categories. Click upon the category that you wish to search and you will be presented with a list of part numbers numeric order, this time regardless of vehicle make & model.

New to Range

When you select the new to range heading, you will be taken directly to the newly added part numbers which are listed in product numeric order. The next step is to simply select the part number you require, and you will then be presented with the technical data page that you require.

The newly added parts are also shown within the other search criteria's. They are clearly marked with a flashing "NEW" symbol to the right of the part number, and also a flashing "NEW" symbol is displayed upon the top right hand corner of the screen to highlight the fact that the part is newly added to the catalogue range.
